TF Forming Systems has been producing the most innovative ICF for over 20 years. Only recently have the benefits been really coming to light in commercial construction. The ingenious vertical design offers many commercial construction benefits. The first and arguably best benefits are in tall wall construction.
§ TF's panels are separate from the attachments which allows the poly panels to slide up and down in the wall when desired. In tall walls the poly panels can be left slid up so there is a pouring window created where the concrete pump truck hose can then be used to pour through the side of the wall. Once a pour lift is complete workers in a man lift simply slide down the next poly panel and continue to pour another lift. Over 30' tall wall pours have been accomplished in one pour by utilizing this pouring method. The concrete can also be easily vibrated/consolidated through the side of the wall as well. This reduces the chances for errors in the consolidation process and ensures that proper concrete placing techniques are followed.
§ Tall walls require a large amount of rebar. TF's design allows for one side of the wall to be set up at a time like regular poured wall forms. This benefit allows the builder to properly and efficiently place all vertical and horizontal rebar. This benefit also allows for easy inspection of a finished rebar cage by building officials. Adding or removing rebar is also possible because of this feature. With the ability to build one side of the wall at a time TF is also able to be utilized in a tilt-up scenario where the walls are poured on the ground and tilted into place.
